Mateus Bailon
Inspired by myths, worldly folklore and the complex simplicity of the human mind, the work of Mateus Bailon explores narratives. It seeks to recall the connection between the human being and nature attempting to understand the mysterious part of people’s personal universes. By using opposites, like the organic and geometric, the physical and metaphysical and different techniques on a variety of surfaces, Bailon creates his own original visual language in detailed and yet expressive drawings and paintings.
Besides displaying his work in group shows, Bailon has also got involved in different and exciting projects around the world such as The White Canvas Project in London and Propa Stuff, creating stunning new pieces on walls, canvases and objects alongside artists like Miss Van, Will Barras, sheOne and Max Ripo. Bailon’s art has been spread in many cities like Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Paris and London with group shows at the Insider Gallery and Curious Duke Gallery.
