Richard Hambleton – Shadowman
With his pioneering unauthorized public painting projects, most notably the expressive, menacing ‘Shadowmen’, Canadian born Richard Hambleton was one of the most significant participants in the early street art movement of the 1970’s and -80’s. While the largest portion of his iconic street works have survived only in photographic documentation, Bowery Iron District Door carries a painted original.
